Sunflower Land is a Web3 farming game developed by Thought Farm, a Sydney-based indie studio founded by creator Adam. Over 600,000 farms have been created so far. Its collectibles live on Polygon, while the $FLOWER token runs on Base and Ronin.
The game operates entirely in-browser with no downloads required across PC and mobile. Sunflower Land maintains profitability through in-game purchases and secured Australian government EMDG grants. New content arrives in chapters of roughly three months each, and the in-game roadmap runs all the way to 2028.
How Does Sunflower Land Work?
You start with a small plot of land and cultivate it through farming, crafting, and resource management. Plant 11 different crop types from sunflowers to pumpkins, each with harvest timers ranging from minutes to hours. Sell crops for the in-game currency you need for tools, land expansion, and crafting.
Resource gathering follows a progression ladder. Craft axes at the blacksmith to chop trees for wood. Use wood to craft pickaxes for stone. Combine wood and stone for stronger tools to mine iron, then gold, then emeralds. Each resource tier unlocks new crafting recipes and land expansions.
The game features multiple regions to explore: Pumpkin Plaza for deliveries and NPC quests, Petal Paradise for flower cross-breeding, Volcanic Terrain for digging treasure, Swamplands for fishing Marine Marvels, and the Desert area where you can mine Gems as hard currency. Special events run seasonally with leaderboards and exclusive NFT rewards.
Four main factions compete in guild gameplay for rewards. The in-game marketplace handles trading of collectibles and wearables, with trades settling instantly in $FLOWER. The Sunflower Land SDK lets community creators build custom mini-games within the ecosystem. Co-op farming lets you visit and collaborate on other players’ farms, spending $FLOWER on exclusive equipment to make your farm appealing to visitors.
Pet NFTs provide gameplay boosts and require feeding to level up. Common pets can be adopted in-game, while Pet NFTs arrive in limited releases and trade on the marketplace. Visitors can interact with and feed your pets.
Digital Collectibles in Sunflower Land
The $FLOWER token, which replaced $SFL one to one, runs on Base and Ronin. It has a total supply of 256 million, with nothing allocated to the team or venture investors. The token powers all in-game purchases, land expansions, marketplace trades, and co-op farming equipment. Players earn tokens through resource trading, deliveries, and bounties.
Your farm exists as an NFT that holds all resources and progress. Farms can change hands, but a newly bought farm is locked for 90 days before it can withdraw or trade. Bumpkins are dynamic NFT characters that level up in real-time through farming and crafting. Each clothing piece is a tradeable wearable designed by the community. Land expansions mint as NFTs with random distributions of trees, stones, iron, and gold.
The game implements supply-and-demand economics where resource scarcity drives higher prices. Weekly auctions at the Auctioneer offer rare NFTs, while competitive event leaderboards and limited drops provide exclusive collectibles. Trade occurs in-game using $FLOWER or on OpenSea using ETH and USDC. The game operates free-to-play with no wallet required for casual farming.

Players who want to own and trade their items can connect a Web3 wallet such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or Ronin instead. In your first week you get the option of a discounted Starter Pack.
Cross-platform browser access works on PC and mobile without downloads. Once you’re in, your farm loads instantly and you begin planting crops, gathering resources, and building your island. Daily chest rewards incentivize regular check-ins, with most players spending 15-30 minutes daily tending farms and completing quests.
