Prefer your blockchain gaming at a slower pace? Farmers World is a resource-extraction farming game built on the WAX blockchain where your tools, land, and animals are all NFTs. Equip an axe to harvest wood, a fishing rod to gather food, or a mining excavator to dig for gold, then sell your resources, craft new tools, and build out your farm at your own pace. It’s one of the longest-running farming games in the WAX ecosystem, developed by Japanese studio G.JIT Japan.
What is Farmers World?
Farmers World is an NFT-based farming and resource simulation game developed by G.JIT Japan, running on the WAX blockchain. It grew into one of the most active games on WAX, with over 200,000 monthly players at its peak. The team no longer releases new content, but the game still runs on-chain and records thousands of player actions every day. The premise is grounded in a fictional backstory: an ancient farm discovered in eastern Brazil in 1573, described in a mysterious manuscript that shapes the game’s lore and setting.
The game runs entirely in the browser at play.farmersworld.io, with no app download required. Every action in Farmers World is recorded on-chain, from tool use to NFT crafting to resource trades.
How Does Farmers World Work?
Three resources drive the entire economy: Food (FWF), Wood (FWW), and Gold (FWG). Each requires different NFT tools to extract. Wood comes from axes, saws, and chainsaws. Food is gathered with fishing rods, nets, and boats. Gold requires a mining excavator. Tools have a durability rating. When it hits zero, you repair with Gold or the tool becomes unusable. Every tool is an NFT, meaning you can sell, trade, or craft them.
Land plots are NFTs that unlock farming and livestock. A Farm Plot grows crops, a Cowshed raises cows and bulls, and a Coop houses chickens. Animals produce resources over time (dairy cows yield milk, chickens produce eggs), which feed back into the crafting loop. Resource tokens trade on the Alcor Exchange for WAX, though their value is close to zero today.
Membership cards add another layer. Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond tiers (each in a Wood, Food, Gold, or Random version) grant progressively more tool inventory slots, extra health, better mining luck, and increased resource yields. Cards are tradeable NFTs on AtomicHub, WAX’s primary NFT marketplace.

Digital Collectibles in Farmers World
All core assets (tools, land plots, animals, buildings, and membership cards) are WAX blockchain NFTs, tradeable on AtomicHub using My Cloud Wallet (formerly WAX Cloud Wallet) or Anchor. The three resource tokens (FWF, FWW, FWG) are listed on Alcor Exchange and serve as the in-game economy’s backbone.
Crafting is a meaningful part of the NFT economy: combining resources lets you mint new tools directly in-game, which can be kept or sold. New NFTs acquired through crafting or marketplace purchases go into your Chest before being deployed to your farm. The resource cost of crafting keeps high-tier items rarer than starter tools. To access the secondary market, you need a WAX account, which you can create for free at mycloudwallet.com.
Getting Started in Farmers World
Go to play.farmersworld.io and connect My Cloud Wallet or Anchor. New players need at least one tool to begin, and an Axe and a Fishing Rod are the recommended starting pair. Tools can be bought from the Farmers World Collection on AtomicHub, where a starter Axe or Fishing Rod costs less than 1 WAX. Once equipped, select your tool and start mining to accumulate your first resources. The official Telegram group is still open if you want to compare notes with other farmers.
