Might & Magic The Card Game
Grew up on Heroes of Might and Magic and want that world in a card game? Might & Magic The Card Game, formerly Might & Magic Fates, is a free strategy card game by Ubisoft for PC, iOS and Android, in early access with cross-play and optional tradable cards through Immutable.
What is Might & Magic The Card Game?
Might & Magic The Card Game is a turn-based trading card game set in the Sea of Fates, a fractured multiverse where timelines collide. You command heroes, summon creatures, cast spells and put up buildings in one-on-one duels, with factions and characters taken from Ubisoft’s long-running fantasy series.
Ubisoft builds the game together with Immutable, and it plays across Steam, iOS and Android, so PC and mobile players can face each other. You will still see the old name in places, including the @MightMagicFates account on X.
How Does Might & Magic The Card Game Work?
Heroes sit at the center of every match. A hero fights alongside your creatures, equips artifacts and gains experience during the battle, which raises its attack power and unlocks new abilities. It plays a little like a tiny RPG character inside a card game.
Your resources come from the cards themselves. Gold produced by cards in your hand gives you mana, so holding a card back can be just as useful as playing it. Timing and positioning on the board matter too, and hundreds of cards give you plenty to combine.
Deckbuilding is flexible. You pick a faction such as Haven, Necropolis, Inferno, Academy, Stronghold or Sylvan for its play style, and you can still include any card you like in your deck. Each season adds cards and a new mechanic, such as Stealth for Sylvan. You can climb the ranked ladder in multiplayer or take on seasonal solo events and faction challenges.
Digital Collectibles in Might & Magic The Card Game
Your cards stay ordinary in-game cards unless you choose otherwise. The Forge lets you turn a card into a tradable digital collectible: the original card is destroyed and you receive an NFT version of it in return.
Trading runs through a third-party marketplace powered by Immutable, and it is only open to players in eligible regions. Ubisoft says the Forge is optional and gives no competitive advantage. The game has no token of its own, so you can ignore this side entirely and still use the same cards in every match.
Getting Started in Might & Magic The Card Game
Download the game for free from Steam (Windows), the App Store or Google Play via the official website. Purchases are optional, and you don’t need a wallet to play.
In your first session, pick the faction that looks most fun, play through the opening matches and learn how gold turns into mana before you start changing your deck. Good to know: the game is still in early access and Steam reviews are mixed (51% positive from about 1,900 reviews), so start free and judge the gameplay for yourself before you spend anything.
