What is Alien Worlds?

Alien Worlds is a decentralized metaverse developed by Dacoco GmbH that has been running since late 2020 and has grown into one of blockchain gaming’s most active ecosystems. According to its own 2025 review, the game averaged over 90,000 daily active accounts that year.

Set in the year 2055, the game’s lore centers on humanity escaping Earth’s pandemics through a wormhole discovered by the Federation, an advanced Bitcoin mining community that detected alien signals within Bitcoin algorithms. Players become space explorers mining Trilium (TLM), a limited resource that powers six planetary Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs). Each planet operates with elected governance, giving players direct control over resource distribution, community initiatives, and metaverse development. The game runs primarily on WAX blockchain with cross-chain functionality on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain, supporting true interoperability for NFTs and tokens.

How Does Alien Worlds Work?

Gameplay centers on mining Trilium using NFT tools across land plots on six planets: Eyeke, Naron, Magor, Neri, Kavian, and Veles. Each planet features unique mining multipliers, charge times, and reward distributions. You equip NFT tools like shovels and drills, select land to mine, and earn TLM plus occasional NFT drops.

The Galactic Hubs program adds community-created games to the mix, such as Milky Way Miner (2D platformer with weekly tournaments), Battlefleet Armageddon (space combat strategy on iOS), Mercenary Battlegrounds (an auto-battler with tournament seasons on Steam), and Mayhem: Alien Worlds (turn-based tactics on iOS/Android).

Planetary governance is a big part of the game. Union DAOs can direct up to 45 percent of their planet’s mining rewards toward community projects. Planets control their election timeframes and custodian numbers. Players stake TLM to vote for planetary councilors who manage treasuries and resource allocation.

Missions on Binance Smart Chain let you lease spacecraft, compete for pooled rewards, and earn NFTs. Landowners set a commission that applies whenever players mine their plots, with only 3,343 land NFTs ever created.

Digital Collectibles in Alien Worlds

Trilium (TLM) is a multi-chain utility token (WAX, Ethereum, and BNB Chain) with a 10 billion maximum supply, five billion allocated to Participation Rewards distributed daily to planetary mining pools. TLM functions as governance currency for planetary DAOs, trading medium on NFT marketplaces, and mining reward.

NFTs represent tools, land, avatars, weapons, and minions across six rarity tiers. Tools like the Artunian Shovel offer specialized mining efficiency on specific terrain types. Land NFTs, limited to 3,343 parcels, generate commission income from mining activity. Avatars include Greys, Reptiloids, Little Green Persons, Nordics, and Robotrons.

The Tokenized Lore system lets players submit narrative proposals, with communities voting to establish official canon. NFTs trade on Atomic Hub marketplace for WAX assets, with cross-chain teleport functionality moving TLM between Ethereum, BSC, and WAX. Galactic Hubs provides grant funding year-round for developers building games within Alien Worlds.

Getting Started in Alien Worlds

Visit play.alienworlds.io to start mining immediately in your browser without downloads. Create a WAX Cloud Wallet (now called My Cloud Wallet) through the game’s built-in setup. New players receive starter tools including a Standard Shovel to begin mining.

Choose from six planets based on mining pot size, fill rate, and community governance style. Equip your tools, select land, and complete your first mine to earn TLM. Mining rewards accumulate in your WAX wallet for staking to planetary DAOs or trading on crypto exchanges.

For Missions on Binance Smart Chain, use the in-game Teleport feature to move TLM between blockchains. Connect MetaMask for Ethereum or BSC interactions. Join community games through the Alien Worlds Arena at play.alienworlds.io/arena.
