Looking for a co-op action RPG where you fight through time with a group of friends? Big Time is a free multiplayer game for Windows PC by Big Time Studios, with six classes, randomly built dungeons, player-owned cosmetics and optional NFT items.
What is Big Time?
Big Time is a fast multiplayer action RPG built around time travel. The walls of spacetime are collapsing, eras of history are crashing into each other and dark forces are coming through the tears. You play a time traveler summoned to the end of the universe to help stop it.
The game comes from Big Time Studios, a team of veterans from companies such as Epic Games, EA and Blizzard. It is also the flagship title of Open Loot, the platform the same company runs for in-game items and trading. Over a recent 12-month period, players logged more than 4.3 million hours and made close to 8 million items (Open Loot, 2025).
How Does Big Time Work?
Most of your time goes into dungeons. Procedural generation builds a new layout, set of objectives and enemy mix for every run, and each dungeon builds up to a boss. You can go alone or bring a party of up to six, which is where the mix of classes starts to matter.
There are six classes to work with. The Time Warrior fights up close, the Chronomancer casts from range, the Quantum Fixer heals and supports, the Shadowblade relies on speed and stealth, the TechBlade mixes damage with support, and the BattleMancer combines melee with elemental spells. Pocket Watches let you swap classes during play, and your skills, abilities and equipment are saved to each watch, so you can level them at your own pace.
Between runs you return to your own corner of the game. Players with SPACE, the game’s version of land, can decorate a home, invite friends and add workshops for crafting. For a change of pace, a PvP mode puts players against each other.
Digital Collectibles in Big Time
Cosmetic items are the heart of the Big Time economy. Armor and weapon skins exist in limited supply, players own them, and they trade on the Open Loot marketplace. SPACE and workshops such as Forges, Armories and Time Wardens are NFTs too. A Forge or Armory makes cosmetics, while a Time Warden makes Hourglasses. Some of these items also appear as very rare random drops inside dungeons.
The $BIGTIME token is an Ethereum token that pays for refining, crafting, upgrades and some Prestige Portals. It drops at random while you play with a charged Hourglass equipped. Open Loot handles the NFT and token side for you, and its marketplace accepts crypto, cards and bank transfers. You can play the full game without buying an NFT or setting up a crypto wallet.
Getting Started in Big Time
Go to the download page on the official website, install the Open Loot Launcher and download the game through it. Big Time is free, runs on Windows only and needs 23 GB of drive space, 8 GB of RAM and at least a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580.
In your first session, create your character, enter a dungeon and try a class that fits how you like to fight. Good to know: you can swap to another class later through a Pocket Watch, so your first choice doesn’t lock you in.
