What is ev.io?
ev.io is a free-to-play browser-based first-person shooter developed by Enthusiast Gaming that launched in beta January 2021. The game runs entirely in your web browser without downloads or installations, designed for high accessibility across all desktop devices including low-end hardware and Chromebooks.
Heavily influenced by Halo and Destiny, ev.io features futuristic sci-fi environments, low-poly aesthetics, and arena shooter mechanics. The game attracted over 400,000 registered users since launch, building an active community through its competitive gameplay and optional play-to-earn features on Solana blockchain.
Built by Addicting Games CEO Bill Kara and his team, ev.io combines traditional FPS components with blockchain technology. The game features adaptive graphics scaling that automatically adjusts visual fidelity based on your system performance, ensuring competitive fairness between players on budget machines and high-end rigs. Cross-platform availability extends to Windows via Microsoft Store, iOS, and Android through Addicting Games.

How Does ev.io Work?
Combat centers on fast-paced arena shooter mechanics with advanced movement options. Triple jump, double jump, teleportation, dashing, and increased sprint speed create vertical gameplay where positioning matters. You spawn with your chosen primary weapon—hand cannon, auto rifle, or laser rifle—each filling different archetypes. Auto rifles deliver low damage with fast fire rates, while laser rifles hit hard but shoot slowly.
Pickup weapons scattered across maps include shotguns, sniper rifles, and rocket launchers with limited ammo requiring precision. The ability system offers customization through skill trees covering jump height, ammo capacity, teleport distance, stamina, and reload speed. Combine double jumps with teleports or stack multiple movement abilities to outmaneuver opponents.
Game modes include Deathmatch (free-for-all), Team Deathmatch, Sniper Shotgun (limited loadout), Battle Royale, Survival (wave-based PvE similar to CoD Zombies), and Infection. Maps feature futuristic architecture with names like Dragon Temple, Fractal, and Drought designed for tactical vertical combat.
The clan system organizes players into competitive teams that climb leaderboards through collective performance. Clans earn points, compete in clan wars, and pursue rewards together. Social features include party systems for playing with friends and private lobbies with shareable game links.
Digital Collectibles in ev.io
ev.io operates on Solana blockchain, chosen for low fees and superior user experience. The game is completely free-to-play, with blockchain features entirely optional.
Character and weapon skin NFTs enable earning “e” currency based on performance. Each NFT has a power level—higher power generates more earnings. You earn “e” through kills in Deathmatch and Survival modes, requiring 10,000 “e” minimum to convert to SOL (approximately $1 per 2,000 “e”).
NFTs are available on Magic Eden, Fractal, and Solanart marketplaces. The first edition minted 3,866 skins across four rarity tiers: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Players level NFTs through events, daily quests, and clan wars to increase power and earnings.
NFT lending allows owners to loan skins to “scholars” for a percentage of earnings. Special NFTs like the Bonk character skin earn BONK tokens. Planned Social Areas introduce player-owned virtual land for trading and mini-games with 1% fees to landowners.
